Engineered and solid timber flooring is be installed by the method of direct stick. These types of floors can be glued directly to the concrete, on plywood or joists and battens. The products come in various widths lengths and thicknesses, some even manufactured with bevelled edge. Whether the timber is prefinished, or in the natural form the option of secret nailing or top nailing is your choice.

Solid timber flooring is manufactured to join together via the tongue and grove system. However as only two sides are machined to join together, nails are also required and shot randomly for extra support. Due to the timber still being in its natural form it is not sanded or lacquered so after the installation process is complete the floor must be sanded gradually and then lacquered with three coats of your choice. This type of timber can be sanded back and recoated 4 or 5 times in years to come.

Engineered timber flooring wether it’s prefinished or unfinished can also be installed via the direct stick system or secret nailing to the battens or joists. Due to the precision engineering the width of the boards can be increased without losing its stability thus giving it a professional and modern look, in some cases up to 280mm.
